About This App
Practice Lithuanian number expressions with adaptive exercises!
This app helps you practice Lithuanian numbers, prices, and times through interactive exercises. An adaptive learning system uses Thompson sampling to target your weak areas.
Number Exercises
Two modules for building number vocabulary:
-
Numbers 1-20 — Learn the basic (often irregular) number words.
-
Numbers 1-99 — All numbers including decades and compounds.
Each module has two exercise types: produce (say the number in Lithuanian) and recognize (identify the number from Lithuanian).
Age Exercises
Practice expressing ages using dative pronouns (Man, Tau, Jam, Jai) with the correct year word (metai/metĹł).
-
Produce — given an English prompt like "He is 25 years old.", type the Lithuanian phrase.
-
Recognize — given a Lithuanian age phrase, identify the age as a number.
Weather Exercises
Practice expressing temperatures with the word "laipsnis" (degree), which declines like other Lithuanian nouns:
-
Produce — given a temperature like 25°C, type the Lithuanian phrase.
-
Recognize — given a Lithuanian temperature phrase, identify the number.
Negative temperatures (down to -20) add minus before the number word.
Price Exercises
Two exercise types:
-
Kokia kaina? (What is the price?) — Nominative case (vardininkas). State the price directly.
-
Kiek kainuoja? (How much does it cost?) — Accusative case (galininkas). The number changes form.
Time Exercises
Four exercise types:
-
Whole hours — Feminine ordinal + valanda (e.g., Trečia valanda).
-
Half past — Pusė + genitive of next hour (e.g., Pusė ketvirtos).
-
Quarter past — Ketvirtis + genitive of next hour (e.g., Ketvirtis antros).
-
Quarter to — Be ketvirčio + nominative of next hour (e.g., Be ketvirčio trečia).
Practice regularly to improve your Lithuanian language skills!
